Alison Bourchier is the author of Bonjour! Madame Le Bonbon! Bon Voyage! Madame Le Bonbon!
“It never ceases to surprise me how quickly children can learn another a language. Even after 20 years of teaching French and Italian, I remain amazed at their ability to both pick up and retain new words.Having taught French to over 400 children a week, mostly in nurseries and preschools Alison wanted a Fun First French Children's book to interact and read to the children.
The younger the children are, the faster they learn. In some of the classes I teach, the children are as young as 18 months – as this is the age that children are first learning to speak, trying new words and sounds in any language comes very naturally and effortlessly.
Without doubt, teaching children another language fosters a love of learning. It also enables a lifetime of inhibition in being able to communicate with others. It provides confidence, encourages speaking out loud and makes parents very proud too.”
